1978

Nick Jackson started transporting boats with his brother Chris at Boatshift Ltd based on Poole Quay. They quickly expanded by having the first boats trailers purpose built with cranked back axles to transport the developing Sunseeker and Princess Yachts by road to the South of France and Spain.

1981

Boatshift transported the Bristish Ocean Racing Team to Marseille for the Sardinia Cup. The yachts had just won the Admirals Cup with Yeoman XXIII, Victory of Burham, and Dragon designed by Ed Dubois. In 1981 the Admiral Cup had 16 International competing Nations, by 2003 not enough countries entered to run the race again.

1990

As bigger boats were built they became too large to transport by road. Nick Jackson moved to Yacht Shipping Ltd to assist Southampton base port agents Wainwright Bros to start shipping boats. Wainwright had the contacts with the vessel owners and Nick had the marine contacts. A meeting was set up with the MD of Spliethoffs which secured the agency for Yacht Shipping to ship boats with them. That seed grew into Sevenstar.

1994

Nick moved to Peters and May Ltd believing the marine industry needed a full freight forwarding service for marine spares in addition to shipping the boats. He was the first member of the marine section briefed with positioning the company into the shipping of production boats. Quickly realising boat builders were providing poor and unsafe cradles Nick had purpose built shipping cradles built which were then hired out and returned for re-use. This secured rapid growth and most of the UK manufactures shipping for Peters and May. Nick loaded thousands of boats in Felixstowe, Tilbury, Southampton, Thamesport, Sheerness, Portbury, Rotterdam, Antwerp, Mumbai, Singapore Palma de Mallorca, and Genoa.

2008

Nick Jackson moved to form Superyacht Shipping. As manufactures were building ever larger yachts there was an opportunity provide shipping cradles based on proven system from the outset. This now provides the best and easiest to use boat shipping cradles in the market today.

2018

Looking to the future Superyacht Shipping Ltd joined with Interliner Agencies with offices in Dublin and stevedoring, freight, packing, port agency in Bremerhaven. This provides a platform for natural growth and development of Superyacht services for future generations.
